
John W. "Jay" Martin
is qualified as an "expert witness" on retirement plans by the
District and Circuit Courts of Montgomery County,
Maryland and the Circuit
Court of
Fairfax County,
Virginia. He has
been retained to represent plan sponsors which have had their plans examined by
the Internal Revenue Service, Pension Benefit Guarantee Corporation and the
Department of Labor. He has extensive experience in this capacity and proven
his effectiveness.
Jay is a Certified Pension Planner (CPP) with the National Institute of
Certified Pension Planners. His comprehensive knowledge of all types of
qualified retirement plans has enabled him to be recognized by his peers as a
leader in the field and is frequently asked to present to professional groups
on current retirement trends and developments.
Jay graduated from Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Virginia with a
degree in economics. After graduation, he began his career in the retirement
field when he accepted a position as pension administrator for Wolff &
Associates. Seven years later he was promoted to vice president as a partner in
Wolff & Martin, Inc. He started Martin Retirement Services, Inc. in 2001.
David W. Archer
graduated from the University
of Maryland Baltimore County
with a degree in economics. He started his career in pension administration in
1994 and has brought a wealth of experience to Martin Retirement Services, Inc.
David's many strengths include his ability to expertly design retirement plans
for his clients based on their individual needs. This service includes both the
assessment of the desired plan specifications as well as the appropriate
funding vehicle. He will then provide the necessary administration to help maintain
these programs in compliance with the many laws and regulations with which he
is so familiar. David also has extensive experience with representing clients
under Internal Revenue Service examinations.
Jeanine V. Simmons graduated
from Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland with a degree in accounting and
is presently working towards her professional designation of Qualified Plan
Administrator (QPA) with the American Society of Pension Actuaries (ASPA). Her
pension administration experience, dating back to 1999, coupled with her ASPA
course work and computer proficiency, Jeanine is a very valuable asset to
Martin Retirement Services, Inc.
Jennifer
Gertson, from Minneapolis,
Minnesota, attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
Before joining our firm in 1994, she worked in the pension field at a TPA firm
in Salt Lake City. In
addition to her general office managerial duties, she's in charge of accounts
receivable, plan document creation and serves as a liaison between some of our
clients and their financial institutions.
Sandra
Swiantek started with Martin Retirement Services in 2006. She is from Chicago
and attended Northwestern
University. Her
pension administration career started iIn 1989 and
comes to us by way of Tampa, Florida. As a member of ASPPA, she stays current
on the many law changes by regularly attending the national ASPPA conference in
Washington, D.C. Her compliance knowledge and attention
to detail has been a great addition to our professional staff. Besides her technical knowledge,
Sandra’s superb client services and problem-solving skills are an asset
to our firm.
Kristen Skolnik is a graduate of Salisbury University with a degree in Communication. When Kristen joined Martin Retirement
Services, Inc. in 2004 she brought a wealth of experience in financial
management, accounting and customer service. As an Assistant Pension
Administrator, Kristen is responsible for all facets of office operations which
includes loan and distribution requests, as well as administering 1099’s.
